Filmriot – a family of filmmakers

I love well crafted films. I love films that entertain. I love films that you can tune out to. I’m a lover of films. I even dabble in a little filmmaking from time to time, though I have yet to produce anything worth watching. There is a lot of technical knowledge on top of the creative output you see in a moving picture, and a few years ago any and all knowledge could be found solely in books and in film school. Nowadays, most of what you need to learn to make a film can be found on the web; and that is something not to be taken for granted.

I stumbled upon Film Riot on YouTube a good 5 or 6 years ago and I have watched them grow and grown with them. The host and producer of the show, Ryan Connolly, teaches from experience and experimentation, but mostly from a place of passion which is what has made me a devout subscriber. I have learned quite a lot from them and if you’re passionate about filmmaking, I bet you will learn as much too.
