Google is a part of our daily digital life. There is no way to get around that fact. It is integral to our routine and function, both reliable and advisor when traversing the Web. Over the years since its inception, Google search engine has undergone subtle design updates, with minor tweaks to the UX, but never an overhaul. The ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ mantra comes to mind here, for the iconic search bar has always been a constant, the single most defining feature of Google.
There are many designers who take it upon themselves to tackle the UI, to give it a fresh paint or perspective, and with Google’s ever growing library of facilities such as Sheets, Docs and Drive, the manner with which we interact with these integrations can certainly be reviewed, if not criticized.
